GEOFFROY ADER, watch expert,
modern and vintage timepieces

Hailing from a family of Parisian auctioneers, Geoffroy Ader began his career in 1995 as a watch specialist at Drouot, alongside his father, Me Antoine Ader, an auctioneer. He then joined the Geneva-based auction house Antiquorum.

In 2005, he joined Tajan as Director of the Watch Department, responsible for auctions in Paris and Monaco. Subsequently, Geoffroy Ader was appointed European Director of the Prestige Watch Department at Sotheby’s in Geneva, where in May 2008, he initiated the house’s first evening sale.

During his career, he handled exceptional timepieces, such as the Patek Philippe “Trossi Leggenda” which belonged to Count Trossi, the first director of Scuderia Ferrari, the personal Rolex of German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, and Lord Seymour’s extra-flat and complicated Breguet pocket watch.

Heading the department for 7 years, Sotheby’s Geneva set a world record in 2014 with the sale of the Patek Philippe “Graves Supercomplication”. Seeking new challenges, Geoffroy Ader returned to Antiquorum in 2015 to lead the digital sector. There, he created the house’s first e-commerce platform, Antiquorum Watch Boutique, developed to meet the expectations of the new generation of collectors online.

Today, Ader Watches brings a renewed approach, both offline and online, to the field of watch expertise, in partnership with major market players such as Artcurial, while developing a range of dedicated services via Ader Watches.

Geoffroy Ader is a member of the French Syndicate of Professional Experts in Works of Art and Collectibles, the Academy of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in London, and the French Union of Experts.
